Volunteer Position Available—-Treasurer for QLEWN Management Committee

Are you passionate about financial management and looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented treasurer to join our QLEWN Management Committee.

The Queensland Lived Experience Workforce Network (QLEWN) is a focused state-wide peak body led by, with and for the Lived Experience Workforce within the mental health, alcohol and other drugs and suicide prevention sector. QLEWN is an Incorporated Association, and our work is governed by our Organisation Constitution.

QLEWN’s vision is to enable Lived Experience workers to lead the ongoing development of and support for the Lived Experience workforce across the state of QLD. Role Overview:

As Treasurer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial affairs of the organization, ensuring accountability and sound financial decision-making. You will work closely with other committee members to support the organization's financial sustainability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintain accurate financial records and prepare reports for committee meetings.

· Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow management.

· Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.

· Liaise with external bookkeepers, accountants, auditors, and funding bodies as needed.

· Provide financial guidance to support strategic decision-making.

Skills & Experience:

· Experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (professional qualifications are desirable but not essential).

· Lived experience in Mental Health, AOD, Suicide Prevention or other relevant areas is highly valued.

· Demonstrated Lived Experience Workforce leadership is preferred.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards of Incorporated Associations in QLD.

· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

· Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

Time Commitment & Benefits:

· This is a voluntary/unpaid role, requiring approximately 20 hours per month on top of attendance at monthly online management committee meetings.
