IMPACT Events

We connect through Network Meetings, Co-Reflection & Communities of Practice. Read More here: How We Stay Connected

IMPACT hosts a range of peer-led, Lived–Living Experience focused spaces designed to strengthen connection, insight and collective impact across Queensland.

Our events are not standalone activities. Together, they form a coordinated ecosystem that supports reflection, learning, solidarity and systems change across the LLE workforce.

In 2026, IMPACT events are delivered across three interconnected streams.

2026 IMPACT Series

Pathways, Crossroads and Solidarity ~ Beyond the Silos

This is IMPACT’s core monthly series for 2026.

Each session focuses on a key system or sector (such as housing and homelessness, AOD, mental health, justice or violence), examined through an intersectional lens that recognises how systems collide in real lives.

Sessions bring together:

  • Lived–Living Experience workers
  • Peer leaders and advocates
  • Cross sector allies and speakers

Rather than treating issues in isolation, the series explores how policy, power, thresholds and service design interact, and where solidarity across sectors can drive change.

Co-Reflection Sessions

Co-Reflection sessions are facilitated peer spaces that support sensemaking, integration and care between and alongside other IMPACT activities.

These sessions:

  • Are not presentations or training
  • Centre lived experience knowledge and reflection
  • Provide space to process the emotional, ethical and political dimensions of the work

Co-Reflection supports sustainability in the LLE workforce by creating space to pause, reflect and reconnect, rather than pushing through complexity alone.

Communities of Practice

Communities of Practice bring together people working in similar roles, regions or focus areas to deepen shared learning and strengthen peer connections. READ MORE

  1. They may be organised around:
  2. Specific sectors or practice areas
  3. Regional, rural and remote experience
  4. Shared roles, identities or ways of working

Communities of Practice are relational, evolving spaces that respond to what participants bring, rather than fixed agendas.

How IMPACT sessions run

All IMPACT events are:

  • Peer led and Lived–Living Experience informed
  • Facilitated with safe enough practice
  • Designed to support participation, consent and choice

Safe enough practice recognises that absolute safety is never a guarantee and that conversations about systems, harm and change can be activating. Participants are supported to step in and out, engage in ways that feel manageable, and prioritise their wellbeing while remaining connected.

  • Across all events, IMPACT intentionally centres:
  • Rural and remote experience
  • First Nations sovereignty and knowledge
  • LGBTIQA+ Communities
  • Disability and neurodiversity
  • Values consumer and carer peer roles equally
  • These are not rotating themes. They are always present, regardless of the monthly focus.
