About IMPACT

What is the IMPACT Network?

Named by our members, IMPACT stands for Inclusion, Mentoring, Peer Advocacy, Care, Together, a Queensland-wide, peer-led initiative co-designed by Lived-Living Experience (LLE) workers, students, and sector advocates.

The Network was built from the ground up through co-design and continues to be guided by LLE values:

Shared Rsponsibility | Mutuality | Reciprocity | Connection | Respect | Hope | Learning | Equality | Social Justice | Human Rights

QLEWN's Strategic Priorities 2026

A Strategic Working Group, established through an independent Lived & Living Experience-led process, brought together regional, rural and urban perspectives. Although funding for its continuation is not yet secured, its foundation has strengthened the network’s statewide reach and direction. Together, they named their vision:

"To cultivate a strong, inclusive and sustainable Queensland Lived and Living Experience workforce that drives meaningful systems change across the IMPACT network and its communities."

The 12 members came from diverse working (both carer and consumer) backgrounds: Mental Health, Perinatal Mental Health, Eating disorders, Housing & Homelessness, Peak Bodies, Alcohol and Other Drugs, and more. A shadow SWG was also formed for learning and scaffolding purposes.

During 2025, IMPACT:

  • Facilitated remunerated Co-Design sessions
  • Grew rapidly to over 300 members
  • Conducted over 400 hours of direct Lived-Living Experience consultation
  • Held 15 whole-Network Meetings, 6 Communities of Practice, 6 Co-Reflection Sessions, Peak Body Allyship meetings
  • Connected students with placement opportunities
